I think I know what I need to do, but I thought I would run my issues by you guys to double check. I have a 2007 Ford F-250 regular cab truck. I am running a JL Audio 300x4/v2 amp bridged stereo to some JL ZR650 CSi speakers in the door. The tweeters are in the "A" pillar pointing towards the glass.
This replaced some 5x8 Alpine coax speakers that I fried last week.
Let's see if I can describe it:
With the alpines, I could sit up straight in my seat and I could hear the right side way louder than the left side. Soundstage is on the right side. If I lean forward, the soundstage shifts towards the center. Same thing if I lean to the right.... The soundstage shifts back towards center. There seems to be a "bubble" around both the driver and passenger that shifts the soundstage. Now that I have moved the tweeters up to the A pillars, the tweets sound great, the soundstage is perfect, but the midrange seems to still have the "bubble."
Driver's side:
Soundstage right
Move head right or forward, soundstage centers.
Passenger's side
Soundstage left
Move head left or forward, soundstage centers.
Any thoughts?
