Sounds like paper...

My powerbass 12" has a sound that's kinda like if you rubbed two pieces of paper together. You can hear it if you're within a couple feet of the sub. What does that mean?

it could be the voice coil rubbing something, could be something in the port..

its hard for anyone to know without being there to troubleshoot. i've used quite a few powerbass subs without any problems whatsoever and my brother still has his Evolution series still poundin away off a zed mad US Acoustics amp

Paper sound.. are you sure you're describing that effectively?

I'd say probably the coil rubbing..if it was paper in the port I'd say it will probably sound like a popping sound...or if the coil came off the former it would be a metallic scratchy sound but it'd probably quit playing by the time you posted about it...again...really need more info though
