People get the misperception of sound quality. SQ and SPL are two different things. Generally people want something that sounds good, but SQ is more....I don't want to say a certain type of music, but I guess you can describe it as that. You basically want something that has clarity and sounds good.Well my install is going to be in the factory location reguardless. To answer the question about sound quality, Thats the name of the thread because I want something that has crisp clean sound. Sound quality is not always about subs and in this case if it was I would have posted this in the subwoofer section. So Rainbow has good clear sound?
As James Bang mentioned, install has a lot to do with it. Sure you can stick them into the stock locations, but will you get what you're looking for? Perhaps, but you'll be missing out on a lot. You must deaden the doors for starters. Speaker location also makes a big difference, sometimes even with the slightest movement or angling.
Also, people have different tastes. Many people say that Hertz HSK's sound really good. IMO, they are good sounding, but they lack certain aspects, such as midbass. I've also heard better speakers and the way people praise them is different than how I would talk about them.
Also want to point out the install includes your crossover points and the EQ-ing. That will make a significant difference. There is quite a difference between slapping some speakers that will sound good in factory locations and putting some speakers in specific locations, tuning, EQ-ing, and time aligning. It's not like it will be a night and day difference, it's more like a today and next year difference depending on what is done.
