What are some good 6.5s,6x9s, and tweeters that have real good sound quality. I have heard that infinity would be the way to go but I want more opinions.

For cheap, Rainbows and Hertz are pretty tough to beat. Do a google search on the CAL tweeter.

I had the kappas, they have a very harsh tweeter and lack bass.

If you looked atr either of the brands he mentioned, you would see that neither is he. He's talking in the $4-500 range. One man's cheap is another man's extravagant.

X2 above. The Kappa car speakers have never even remotely impressed me.

I've had the Pioneer REV TS-161Rs (6 3/4" coaxial "component" ) - it has a driver mounted crossover. Very unimpressed with that setup. I am installing Boston Acoustics SX65 and will report - but I'm not sure I'll like them either - I picked em up discounted quite deeply as it didn't include the hardware (only screws). My Pioneers failed due to water intrusion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and I'm taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again.

My impression from the internets is that the BA is a bit lacking in bass - but is beautiful when it comes to highs. Unfortunately I already have that covered - the speaker is to be mounted very low on the door (pt cruiser) - so its not that likely I'll even hear the highs these guys put out.

I've heard the same about Inifinity Kappas, in fact the whole Infinity lineup is said to be harsh.

Were it not for my own impatience and requirement to get something locally I might have been inclined to see about some Rainbow stuff myself:

Image Dynamics XS65 or XS69, if you can go with the XS69 my lord midbass that kills most 8's. If not the ID chamelons or if really on a budget the ID CX comps, you would be hard pressed to find a better comps set than the CX series for the money. (yes I am a ID fan)

^^^atsaubrey is running the XS69, and they sound awesome. One of the best systems I've heard and they were even broken in yet.

Boston Accoustics, or Morels both make top notch mids and highs. And I hear a lot of guys on here talking Rainbows, though I have never heard any myself.
