Sound Quality Setup

I was wondering if anyone could help my with my stereo. Right now, My lows sound fine, the response is quick, and sharp. But my problem is with highs and midrange. right now I have this setup..

HU: Alpine 7874

Front Speakers: 2x 4" Pioneer

Door SpeakerS: 2x Factory speakers (Probably my problem 6.5" gonna upgade to Infinity 6.5"

Rear: 2x Sony X-Plod 6x9's

Sub: 2x Pioneer IMPP

Amp: 800w Kenwood

My plans so far are.. 1.) To upgrade the door speakers, was thinking of infinity. 2.) To add a 300w amp to the rear 6x9's.

My main taste in music is rock, say metallica. When I play And Justice For All.. The bass I can hear & feel ok, but the guitar sounds too "trebbley". Not enough .. err.. MMPHF! in the guitar.. Any suggestions? I really want to get my car stereo sounding nice. But im stuck as of what to do next. Any input I would be very thankful..

Thanks,

Theo

well i suggest you get a good componet set to put in the front and power them w/ the amp and if you really want the 6x9s keep them for the rear fill.....only power them w/ theh/u.....good luck

So you think a good set of Infinity components woudl work well? The ones I looked at are the INFINITY 6.5 in. 2-Way Car Speaker, come with a crossover, tweeters, and 6.5". You think the 300w Jensen would power these sufficiently?

there is no sound quality setup unless you have the midbass:D my system sounded good without one, but when i added a pair of midbass driver, what a difference. the bass seems to be more infront of you than in back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

im sorry...your right....its been a long day.....jbl does make some good class a/b amps tho....probably a good 2channel would work or a 4channel.....good luck

LOL! Yes, I'm an Infinity fan. The one's you have pictured are the 605cs. They are their Reference Series, good spkrs. I have the step up from them (Kappa's) and I love 'em. The RS have a freq response of 54hz-20khz, whereas the Kappa's have a response of 45hz.-21khz. Basically the Kappa's have a little better bass response and clearer highs. You can find the RS online for around $120 and the Kappa's for about $200. Your front spkrs are pretty much where your sound is at aside from your subs, so "doing it right the first time" will save you money in the long run. One thing to note is that they are both rated at 90w RMS, so chose your amp accordingly. You go pushing 150w RMS and your gonna be smelling fried voice coil before long. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif If you want to run a 300w amp to them maybe you should look at their Kappa Perfect series, just be prepared to get your wallet out.

Hope all goes well. God bless you!
