hey guys first post, sorry if its in the wrong section 
so yeh basicly the stereo was working fine and now suddenly there are no back lights (no screen lights or button lights) and no sound output, as i said it was working fine before, the thing is when i look closely, the display is still working, all the buttons work fine and the screen displays everything, its just that there is no lights, theres no sound either otherwise i could live with no lights. i tried a similar head unit which has the same connector and it works perfectly so i think ive rulled everything out so the only place the problem can be is in the head unit i guess
oh and the head units my dads which hadnt been used in a long time so i jacked it lol, im only 18 and still learning about all this stuff so take it easy on me please.
