hi everyone, i have a 12' eclipse and a 250watt amp.

but my sub wont hit hard, i was wondering if it was because of the size of the amp vs the sub or if its my head unit, because when ever i try to turn my head unit up, it also turns off if it trys to hit hard.

soo idk.

anyone got an idea.

thankx alot.

sorry im kinda new to all the lingo, haha..

what is rms?

and ive had a few friends tell me that its prolly the head unit, im just trying to get as many as opinions as possible

Can you be more specific?

Ported or sealed box? What size (cu foot)? What frequency it tuned to?

What model/type of hu?

What model/type amp?

What model/type subs?

Edit:

I just swapped out my sony hu for my new pioneer (literally, just about 30 min ago) and I noticed a HUGE difference in quality and how the subs sounded although they both supposedly put out 2v at the rca's

it is a sealed box, and ive tryed all the frequencies

the head unit is a sony xplode, thats all i could tell you about it, it came with my car when i bougt it.

i have a sony xplode amp.

and a eclipse sub.

edit.

hmm, idk

mine is the only head unit ive ever seen jus shut off if i turned it past 20.
