Sony Xplod power question

Hi, i have sony xplod CDX-GT23. What is the function "AUTO OFF" on my headunit?

I am detaching my faceplate while my headunit still operating when I leave the car. Does this turns OFF my headunit so it won't be a batt drain, or I need always to press and hold the OFF button before detaching the faceplate? Thanks

if you detach the face from the radio ...it should kill the power without having to press off...as far as the auto off i never have noticed that before

Sounds like an option to keep the radio on if the car isnt running and the key is out. I would put it on auto shut off. Just to be safe and sure you dont drain your battery.

Thanks, but my headunit's constant 12v and switched 12v (ACC) is hooked together, so my HU is always powered no mather the car is running or not. I'm very important to know that detaching the faceplate while the HU is operating really shut off the stereo, because my battery is poor charged

They are hooked together because i need the stereo to work even the car is not running or the key is not inserted in the lock! Thanks

Well on sony's if you HOLD the off button , the deck will completly power down instead of just showing the clock and staying lit up. That way you don't have to carry the face everywhere.
