Sony Xplod 1000watt not turning on

So I just got my used 2007 Ford Focus the other day and wanted to install a better sound system. I bought some Kicker 6x9's and installed the 4 of them into my doors. I got a pioneer x3500ui. I installed all proper cables and such. I got a Sony Xplod 1000 watt amp and a 800 watt 12' Pioneer sub from a friend. I tested the sub with a friend's amp and it works fine. So I installed the REM wire to the "Amp power on" cable on the back of the head unit. I mounted the amp and connected all necessary cables. I verified that the amp wire is getting power and it has a good ground (I checked these with a power detector). I turned on the car and all the door speakers worked. I checked the sub and it wasn't on.

I checked the amp and I was unable to verify that the power/ protector LED was on or not. It wasn't getting hot or anything, and I was switching some cables around to test it. I tried tweaking some radio settings, but nothing worked.

I was going to check and make sure the fuses on the amp were fine. If anyone had any answers or suggestions I would happily like to hear them.

Jump the remote wire to the power wire on the amp and see if it kicks on....

Thanks everyone for all the help! I found out that the cables leading to the REM and "Amp turn on" were not connected properly. So now the sub and amp works!
