Sony XM-5046 Amp?

I have a Sony XM-5046 amp from their Mobile ES line a few years ago driving my Focal KPs. Should I upgrade to something new? It seems to do pretty well, but want the best. Also, I am thinking about doing some small subs in a ported type enclosure (8s or 6s) with a 225 HCCA to push them. What is the general feeling on this?

Get a better amp, the focals will love you for it. Sony is just.... okay at best. As for subs, what kind of car? I think to get enough output, you'd need at least a pair of 8's.

What kind of amp? I have been out of it for a while, and everything I look at looks like Junk. The Sony used to be a ****ed good amp and I don't want something new just to get a new one.

It is a Toyota Tundra truck, 2001, extended cab. I'm not into bass or boom, but would like a good solid low end. Any suggestions there?

The Sony ES stuff is very nice, nothing at all like their current amps. Unless you just need more power I'd stick with the ES. You'll have to spend quite a bit to get something new with comparable SQ.
