Sony P5 Subwoofers

Can u guys tell me if the Sony XS-L1290P5 or any of the Sony P5 Series subwoofers are any good?

i own 2 of the 10" models and i'm sending 175 to each in a sealed box...at best they are decent...get fairly loud for 60 bux, and actually sound pretty good on bass heavy rap songs...but when on any other type of musiv (country, rock, etc) they sound,well, muddy...

i'm making a ported box fro them this week so i'll see if they sound better ported or sealed...i'm hopin they will sound better but i thought, if they sound muddy sealed u mite as well port em and have some half way loud subs...anyways i'll tell u what sounds better in about a week when i get the box built and installed...but to be honest, there are alot better for the money but some people bash them without even hearing them...decent would describe them better

I'm a new Sony hater. I like their old stuff, but the new stuff sounds really bad compared to what else is out there. They are very gimmicky and flashy without much substance.

I owned sony about 2-3 years ago, and they sucked then, and apparently **** now. I burned through 3 of them in about a 2 month period. You can find better.

i have a friend who has 2 p5 12's in a sealed box in an extended cab s-10 and they do get loud but there are alot better subs out there, but i am also a sony hater too..

not much of a sony guy neither. bought 1 from walmart for fun gave it 1000watts wit a 25hz tone loved that forgot to make a mov. tho. i love walmart brought it back n had a fun day blowin it up. lol

yea! thats allways fun. 800 watts RMS to an 8" walmart sub. bass boot all the way up. hahaha... they took it back too, gotta love that. anyway... my friend has two 12" p5's as well and they sound pretty bad, dont get loud at all, but theyre kind of underpowered.
