Sony HU problem

the only problem with the buy a new head unit feature on sony decks is thta somtimes it just doesnt kick in quick enough.....

im thinking about sending it to sony but i can see them telling me it will cost $400 to fix

Hmm, strange problem. Sony factory-service only offers a flat-rate exchange program on that model, no repair. The exchange is $186.66 though, lol, so it's like the same price as buying a new one.

You could take it to a local Sony-authorised repair place though and they'd fix it for whatever it cost in parts and labour.

That model should have a 2-year warranty, if you purchased it authorised. So if you did, it might still be in warranty.

Aside from those options, you could just start using the remote which should work fine...

yeah, i definately wouldnt pay 186.66 for an exchange, i bought it from etronics.com which im guessing is not authorized...and if i had the remote, i would be using it, i think it fell out of my truck at some point, been missing it for like 6 months... ill pay for repair if its under 40 any idea how much itd cost

the reason that ur HU is actin crazy is bcuz its a sony....But in all seriousness the reset button worked when i had a sony i was hoping that it would work for u

yeah i know, im gunna try disconnecting the power as soon as the truck gets back from the shop and see if that helps...

its weird because if you play with it for awhile some buttons will begin to work but not all of them and they are all inconsistant
