well i know that the sony receviers aint to bad i had one but i was a dumbass and messed it up by runnin it at 4 ohms wide open mine wasnt the 4 ohm stable model. i loved it till it blew but it should be fixed this weekend i hope. thier speakers aint to bad ive heard better but for the money they arent bad but the only thing i wouldnt get is a sony sub id go with somthin better and bigger

i disagree, my friend has a 100watt powered 12 and the thing hits like a mofo. i was really impressed when he showed i to me. i was just thinking it was like typical sony products for your home. you know nice but not out of the ordinary. but i was surprised. and my movie theater here uses sony speakers. SDDS (sony dynamic digital sound) and it sounds cool when you're watchin your movie. so just some food for thought.

I have a bunch of sony stuff for my home theater stuff ... its ok I guess more respectable than their car audio stuff. At any rate for low end stuff I still like Yamaha better and for high end I like the Denon stuff:) But sony 5.1 is a hell of alot better than TV speakers heh thats for sure.

I would also recommend the yamaha stuff.....I believe in any price range it is more user friendly than any sony, and sounds much better, as far as your speakers go with something american made, or at least american designed. Klipsch, Infinity, energy, etc.

I have a 5.1 sony ------not sure of the model number. I love it--- though I have a very unbalanced system with mismatched speakers BUT it still sounds very good-----way better then the movies. when looking for a reciever. get one that has both DD & DTS decoding alot of optical digital ins & coaxial digital ins. I use optical for some of my connects CD, DVD,CD burner . yea I use 4 -15"s and 2- 12"s with mids an highs on my front 2 channels with small speakers for the center and the rears

JBL baby hehe

ma home audio system is made entirley up of JBL.....pOunds like a mofo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

and excellent soundquality for tha movies!!

well personally i'm a big fan of sony home theater products and i will only buy sony tv's, but for speakers i will be going with Bose (don't remember the model number) as soon as i can afford the ones i want...

anyways

hell yea im sure you will be happy with those speakers. and i agree JBL does make some sweet speakers for home audio yea bose is the shit but i cant afford that and most ppl dont want to that shit aint cheap

relative for the price I found Bose to be a complete rip off. My friend has all Bose stuff (701s and a center channel and rears) and it sounds nice I guess for the money he paid (he works at best buy so he got for like less than half retail and they screwed up and gave him 2 - 150$ instant rebates instead of one heh oopsy....) But at any rate I heard them compared to some klipsch speakers for relatively the same price and I thought they were far superior in sound quality to the bose stuff....

i have no idea what to choose, im leaning toward polk, jbl, and maybe pioneer speakers now (what u gays think bout them?,) and is there any small home theatre speaker makers (like aidre and those kinda companys, i know adire makes stuff but its to high for me)...and does it hurt mix mtachen brands (like haven a pionner a/v with a polk system)
