Somethings wrong...

k so i just got home from a week vacation and my zx1500.1 is sitting at home waiting on me... so i wired it up using a wiring kit by audiopipe, but when i turn it on (even at 0 volume) it puts out a constant rumble sound. it won't play any music at all... what did i do wrong and how do i fix it? i have to leave again for a week on monday and would like to have a good solid day of bumping, so quickness is very much appreciated =D thnx

I have done the big 3 and have a 160 amp alternator installed. so I shouldn't be running out of power. Plus my lights arent' even dimming... >.

Is 4 awg big enough for a 1500 rms sub amp + whatever wattage the speaker amp is?

What's the wattage on the amp for the regular speakers? I used 4 awg on my zx750.1 maybe it was overkill for mine?...

its a cheap 400 watt sony amp. I bought a 5000 watt audiopipe wiring kit. and thats what it came with... so if its not enough... then that sux... lol

yeah, i have know idea what gauge it would take, or if that could possibly even be your problem. I was just erring on the side of caution with mine.

Do you know for sure that the subwoofer is good? have you used it with a different amplifier (or used your current amp with a different sub)?

mayb get an even better ground? And upgrading the wires to 1/0awg wouldn't hurt, unless that's what u already have

I im using a 4 ga power cable to the back and a 3 way splitter w/ an 80amp fuse for the sub amp and a 60 amp fuse for the speaker amp. it works fine and doesn't shut off...just the sub amp.

wiring kit is probably fine, but if that Sony amp is 400 watts MAX then you probably arent even getting 200 watts from it. Jeez when will people learn....do a little research and you will find out that SONY SUCKS!

I realize that sony sux... i said that...and i know im probably getting only 150-200 watts...but it was cheap and i just use it to run my highs...its better than just my HU...

on to the problem...could it be an impeadence wiring problem? if so how do i fix it?
