Something wrong when wiring to 1 ohm (Hifonics 1206, 2x 12" RE SE)

K, just for starts, heres what I got.

2 12" D4 RE SE's

Hifonics BXi1206d

Well, I've been running them at 1 ohm ever since I got em. Took them out yesterday and put in my 2 treo tsx 10's just to see what they'd do (also wired to 1 ohm)

Got my box for my SE's covered in vinyl today and put it back in, wired it up the same way its always been, but now its making some noise like HORRIBLE port noise and the subs don't move too much.... hook one up, slams and sounds perfect, no port noise, hooked the other up, same, sounds perfect. Hook them both up again, sounds like crap, subs barely move.

So I checked and both are sitting at 1.8 ohms on DMM. So basically 2 which they are wired to.

I started hooking them up different ways, but get the same results each time. I have drawn a little diagram to show the way's I've done it.... anyone have any ideas what has happened?

double check the wiring inside the box. Not moving much means the coils could be wired so they work against each other.

All of the pics you showed are the same thing. Hifonics uses 2 terminals on their monoblock amps for ease of wiring; They are paralleled inside.

Maybe you got one of them out of phase from the other one somehow by accident when you hooked it up?
what does that mean?

only use 1 set of outputs. 1 pos and 1 neg. Run the POS to one sub, then daisy chain it to the second, same for the negative.
thought about this, but its always been wired this way, even the tsx's I had in just about 2 hours ago were wired like this, nothing has changed and the subs still measure at 2 ohms each....

yeah cause no matter how i hook up one on its own it works just fine, any wire orientation... just when both are hooked up together somethings not right.

first off. weed does good things for you.

hehe i switched around the positive and negative wires i hook up to amp on the left sub.... (so reversed its said polarity) and wallah, it works. thanks a shit ton guys cause I would have hated to have to get that sub back out again.
