Something louder/deeper than a 5200?

I have been running a TC 5200 with a IA40.1 and lately my Z1a. I am looking for a new sub that can drop the bottom better and even get louder than it . The LMS can drop lower but it isn't louder is there anything out there new? Polo..

what box? its a highly inefficienct woofer, but i doubt you find something that drops as low gets as loud and sounds as good... maybe a pair of 15s?

It really isn't that inefficient, thought it was actually more efficient than my SSX which was supposed to be ok. It is in a spec box, sealed trunk. Don't get me wrong it is loud as fck but was just looking to buy something hahaha. I am happy with it great sub and I have enough tops to keep it going maybe tinker with the port design or something? Not gonna find too much thats going to drop harder than the 5200 other than the LMS ultra or whatever. But there are plenty of other that are louder.

You may just be at the limit of what your trunk can do until you start adding more power, batteries, and structural support. And if you put another amp on that sub, you'll surely rip it to shreds but i'm sure you probably know that already.

Look into the RD Audio HeavyWeight SQL or SuperHeavyWeight... They Will take all that 40.1 has to offer.... I believe with the custom coils you can get a .7 ohm load and get more power to the sub.. Im not saying the HWs or SHWs are better subs.... but they are a top contender.... You could look into getting a bigger amp to run to a HW.... I actually believe the HW's can take more power daily than the 5200 can....

I just dont know if you would want to risk it running more than 4000 rms to a 5200... since recones on the 5200s are not on everyones to buy list.....

Whats the coils on that 5200?

I actually believe the HW's can take more power daily than the 5200 can....

About the same amout of power, but i'm definately sure the HW will hold together way longer. Problem isnt the coils on 5200's - it's the spiders, cones, and glue joints.

They are 1.3/quad coils. I run a modded Z1a on it with a 16V system so it is getting way more than the 40.1 anyways. I also ran the 40.1 on the same electrical, tried 12V but the difference in power is night and day not to mention you cut down the draw a bit. You couldn't really listen to a 5200 very long with 4kw attached to it you would suffer haha. You see I am not looking for a sub with super stiff spiders and mondo bufu coils so I can waste 10kw of amp power. If you heard a 5200 and compared it to say a Treo SSX or DD 9500, it reproduces the lows soooo much nicer, probably because it moves so much more air. I have tried all kind of subs just to play some young Jeeze on a 5200 and I stopped. I bought two actually, one as a backup and a few tops just in case. Maybe I'll try something with the ports. Hey has anyone ran or heard a 5200 sealed ?
