Actually though, if you have a trunk car and have comps in the back dash, yes, it can pop the cones and cause distortion.

exactly it.

it doesnt really take that much to do it either.

I had some power acoustik 10's distort the 6x9s in my rear deck badly. warped the cone on one of the 6x9s

Also the low volts can cause distortion. When the subs hit it takes away the power of the deck or 2nd amp
