Something comparable?

Have a freind with 2 15" L7's in a sealed box in his grand prix. He's getting a Tahoe. The L7's are powered by a Kicker KX1200 so around 600 to 700 watts each. I'm trying to convince him to go with just one 12" or 15" ported. Looking for something comparably loud and a little more durable. Any suggestions?

all he needs is a ported box. He doesnt need new subs or amps.

im 110% with tap out. set him up with a ported box, then lay back and enjoy the bj you get because you just make his system noticbly louder, for the cost of mdf and screws...not to ****ing mention its going in an suv...

and your not gonna get as loud with a 1 sub setup. sure someone who tries many enclosures and experiements a ton might be able to get as loud but many people are drop and go. they want something to basically plug in and use. so i doubt he will want to build a few enclosures to try and keep up with 2 15" l7's using a singel sub setup.

Save heaps over replacing equipment that (a) isn't bad gear at all and (b) isn't near being used to its potential if the goal is "loud"

Well see that's the thing. He is already talking about new subs, we've soldered those **** tinsel leads so many times to the kickers, I think he is fed up. Plus he doesn't even play the kickers that much anymore, so i'm trying to get him to down grade a little, but with enough thump that doesn't make him miss the L7's.
