Somebody knowledgable tell me what I'm doing wrong

So this is the deal:

I am running 2 12" audiobahn AW122T 550w rms subwoofers parallel bridged off a A8002T amp at 800wx1. The subs randomly turn on and off, and I think that the amplifier might be overheating. Could somebody please offer a reason as to why this is happening? If not, could you offer a better wiring alternative? Thanks.

Does the amp feel hot to the touch ? You may just have a lose power or ground connection. Check all of your wiring first. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

what ohm subs are they?

How exactly do you have them wired? In parallel/parallel (which yields a 1 ohm load), or series/parallel(which is a 4 ohm load)?

You should have them wired like Option#2 for a 4 ohm load:

Also, what size power/ground wire are you running, and is your ground scraped down to bare metal?

Make sure you have them connected @ 4ohms. Make sure all connections are secure. Make sure you set your gains properly. And test the voltage going to the amp.

on the wiring option 2, it shows to connect the positive and negative terminals together on the subwoofer, is this necessary?
