ok so me and my dad went to an audio store and asked for some subs at a good price they showed us the 12" rockford fosgate punch p3's and he said 275 for two of them so we went to a different one and asked what would sound good in a truck he said 2 10" kicker cvr's what would you buy for subs???? and the amps for the p3's would be a fosgate 1500 watt amp and an amp for the cvr's would be a 500 watt

Your problem started when you went to two different places and asked two different (and vague) questions. Were those output numbers both at RMS or peak? At how many ohms? ...better yet, what are the model numbers?

What are the system goals? How much room do you have to work with? What is your budget?

which do you like the best sound of?

then they will serve just fine untill you get into this forum trust me listen to as many as you can.

stick to known brands like jl rockford and pioner etc and you should be safe, as for which is better 12" here in oz are the most popular sub from all sizes because they can play most music resonably well and 10s only if there is a space issue.

however since ive posted im sure youll get heaps of other questions opinions etc

but thats what i reckon
