actually I had a water pump that only squealed at low RPMs when it was cold... on a hondaif it was the alternator or water pump it woudl do it no matter what time of day you were starting it.
if the bearings were going bad they are going bad they do not wait until things are damp/cold.
Also the load on the alternator can draw as much as 5hp so if the belt had a little grease OR it was not tight enough it will squeel like that. My fatehrs van the battery kept slowly dieing, thoguht it was the alternator. Turns out it was the belt was bad and when the alternator needed to create more current the belt woudl slip.
Little Mazda 323 ... my trucks have no problem dealing with the current //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gifI doubt that is a belt, it's either a water pump or your alt pulley.... what kind of car?
the same exact thing happened to me... I'd get out of the driveway and gunn it... at very high RPM's it would go away and once the car warmed up.... it was a waterpump... it's more of a loud squelch than a squeak...Little Mazda 323 ... my trucks have no problem dealing with the current //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I've noticed that it usually happens more often when it is warmer out - not super how nor super cold, somewhere in the middle ... if temperature makes some sort of difference.
Any solution/fix ... new waterpump? Doesn't happen too often, but it's enough to bug me when it does happen.the same exact thing happened to me... yah I got a waterpump/timing belt done and it was fixed....Any solution/fix ... new waterpump? Doesn't happen too often, but it's enough to bug me when it does happen.
I think they are some kind of fox... I can't remember now... in any case how many miles has it been since you've done a timing belt??Awesome thanks guys. And thanks ss3079 you was leading my problem to a solution. Only thing it doe's this only at nights and most of the time when I start up my car I hear a quick squeal from that thing under the engine. I drive an Mazda MX-3.. My amplifier is a Orion 1200D. The rpm doe's lower as the mystery belt squeals. Highly doubt it's the alternator because I have an Optima Redtop under my hood, Big three upgrades. Oh and I really like your avatar AcidicDreams //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif that is so cool the cat's eyes looks so evil.
