the fully loaded btl 12'' against the 12'' solo x WHICH ONE WOULD BE MORE DURABLE in the same box tuned the same and same amp to power it to its full potentials.?

"DURABLE" or louder?the btl 12'' against the 12'' solo x WHICH ONE WOULD BE MORE DURABLE in the same box tuned the same and same amp to power it to its full potentials.?
What other big league drivers does it not stand a chance against? The BTL, while one of the few motors with abnormally high BL product, stands no chance against solo-x or other big league drivers in an equally sized box.
I am just playing devils advocate. Have you heard both? How many installs have you done with both? How does the drivers P2P have to to with it's SPL potential? And lastly, I have personally witnessed a solo-x cone break apart. I have yet to see a BTL do this. I guess what I am getting at is, why is the BTL cone weaker in your opinion?"DURABLE" or louder?
I would say both go to the solo-x, but here is why (its quite simple)
larger voice coil (less power compression, less heat, more output)
larger motor
more BL product (almost twice as much BL squared divided by dcr)
larger cone
rubber surround (will not crack)
larger suspension (will get true 3" P2P without being stretched or torn)
the cone is not paper either, not sure what affect that has on durability if any tbh.
The BL and suspension are the dividing factors here, you just can't make up for it, the solo-x can push much more air in the same size box so you can open up the ports and get greater efficiency at resonance. I'll let the pawns on teh forum debate this but here is by closing argument, while I am 100% right (as always), it is VERY important to keep in mind, there is no "BEST" the BTL has its differences and don't forget its also 1/2 the price!
Definitely a huge advantage when the coils cook. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I always thought this was an awesome design for that reason.S.P.A.I.R. or what ever it is. > all other stuff
You are an ABSOLUTE imbicile. Plain and simple."DURABLE" or louder?
