never heard an l5 sorry, comparing it to say, some PG titaniums, which sound excellent, it doesnt sound very good, but it sounds fine to me. not bad sounding at all, people just assume that it sounds like crap, but it doesnt. You wont be impressed but you wont be let down at all........
