Solo X 12inch

yah really the kicker recomends 5k for those things dont they? youd need two kx2500s or two 20.1. or tell him to snatch up that hifonics goliath Goldtaz1 has forsale here that would be perfect!

depending upon install (RWT here, remember) you can use as little as 1500wrms up to about 2500wrms. for a daily install i wouldn't recommend going over the rated rms, which is 2500. for burps they'll handle plenty more just fine, but daily, i wouldn't recommend it.

what vehicle?

we've got one s12x in 3 cubes @36hz off a memphis mc1500d in an explorer sport trac (removed the driver's side rear seat) and that thing is sick loud. we've also got a pair of 12's in a buick regal in 7 cubes @ 40hz off a memphis mc4kw, and a pair of 12's in 6.5 cubes at @36hz off a ma audio hk4000d (my old amp). 1500 -2kw for daily is more then enough to get deaf very, very quickly.

goes to show you what real world vs this is what i've read really is. they don't need 5kw to move. hell, i powered my s18x off "just" 2500wrms and would do a 145 legal. in just 5.7cubes.

Even if the X could handle it, it will only be a 3dB difference in theory. That is over $400 a dB. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

There is a difference betweem the 10/12 and 18" models. The 10 and 12 inch versions recommend 2500 watts RMS, while the 18" is rated @ 5000 watts. Considering the circumstances, I would think a Kicker kx2500.1 would be ideal.

oh, it'll handle 5kwrms, have no doubts about that. and handle it repeatily. i've seen one ten take 10kwrms for half a dozen long burps and it still lives. never even stunk.

but like i've already mentioned, and it's been repeated at least once, the 12's are "only" rated for 2500wrms. and that's all you'll need at most for a daily setup. and trust me, they'll wang off that.

them seem to like 3-3.5 cubes tuned 34-36 hz. if you have a really strong midbass/midrange, tune lower. around 28-30hz. but they don't really need to be tuned that low, lol, trust me. they'll drop regardless.
