solo baric l5 15's?

08 L5 refurbs on hifisoundconnection are 169 each and I couldnt tell the difference between it and a new one.And it was very loud.Dont try to go the L7 route, youll just spend more on subs for the same sound.plus the L5 will handle more than rated power.I was told on the phone by a kicker tech. that the 5 and the 7 would be identical on the same power. The L7's advantage comes in when you have way more power. So go with the L5's from where ever you decide and build the enclosure so it will fit your car.....I had mine in 4cuft with 64 sq inches of port 22 inches long, and it was impressive spl wise, not so much sq wise.good luck.

I have one of the older 2002 or 2003 style L515's. It has been a very strong sub and it sill gets used every day. I put it in a 2.5 cubic foot sealed box in a friends truck, the only thing I don't like is when the tinsel leads start smacking the cone.

yea i was gonna try to make the box as close to 12 cubes as possible but its gonna be hard cause it will fit in the back but like i said earlier, it probaably wont fit through the door..

well 4 cubes before port and sub displacement is good for most 15's.But the finished box will still be atleast 11 cubes gross.good luck,it should be very loud no matter what if you can get the box in there.

It looks like you have your mind set on L5's, and yes I've heard them in every size. I would get some Audioque Street Duty SDC2.5 15's over those L5's.
i was actually looking into audioque now.. how about their hdc3's? 2 15's in that model?

I don't really know what to tell you about the HDC3. IMO, they are too extreme for daily unless your ears can take it. They might be tame on 1000 rms a a piece? All of the HDC3's have an extremely hard hit. It just depends on how hard you are to please. The 15L5 might impress you enough. JL doesn't make anything close as far as hard hitting bass and the SoloX is the only Kicker that can compete with the HDC3. You might not want to take my advice because after running L7's, I am a diehard round sub fan boy.

hahah omg after reading this i have made my mind and i think im going with the hdc3's. i want some shit to make my ears bleed haha ill tune relatively low tho so i can get semi decent sq as well but im down for high spl most definately. 2 15's hdc3's on 2000 rms is what im gonna do, and i think im gonna do a huge fiberglass box that takes up my whole back seat area
