Solo-12 Vs Mt-12

10kw for 30 sec. hmmm doubt it...... but the solo-x or MT should THERMALLY be able to handle it for a few seconds........ I'd put money on the solo-x blowing before the MT though. Inhumane Acura....... Notice he said this will mostly for a daily setup not all out spl...... and DP's are only a few tenths down on the MT. Hmmmm or you could just wait for the new Incriminator sub..... it WILL pwn all in SPL.

I was just stating when you made the comment about the Solo X having 'issues', I correcly added my comments, others use them, with great success.
Just to add to this EVERY SINGLE SUB on the market has its issues...Tracy knows this...I'm sure he does. The Solo X has issues. The MT has issues. They all do!

Both are very capable woofers. Both have been used in vehicles that have/do hold world records. Both are proven winners in the lanes.

Also, there is no way to tell which will be louder. The Solo X can be down 5 dB in my car, but up 5 dB over an MT in someone elses. There's no way to tell which will be louder until you've used and tested both in your application.

i don't understand.... why would you want excessively loud Subs with a lower SQ for a daily driver? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I'd like to see if you can humanly stand 150dBs for more than a few minutes at max

Or maybe you just want to wear ear plugs and roll up to traffic signals making people's rear view mirrors shake... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Hey twoohfour My last system did over a 150 on an audiocontrol mic and i listend to it daily. I think I will just buy both and see what I like better the SOLO X or the MT. ANy suggestions on box size for the SOLO X or the MT as a sterter?

I have a daily driver more than capable of doing 150+ (TL) playing music, doesnt mean im an *******...which is what you are if your sitting at a light bothering people...its humanly possible if your used to it...

I think his point was more why would someone want a sub that lacks SQ (all the time) just so it will play a few db's louder than you could probably stand for any long period of time anyway, for a daily driver. I tend to agree, the notion seems silly to me. Can I listen to 150db's? Yes. But Id much rather have a sub that sounds better 100% of the time but is only capable of 148db's (for example) for that rare time that I listen to it at absolute 100% full blast. *shrug*

But yes, to each their own.. just saying I dont get the logic.

It is however, just an opinion. Like he said, to each their own...

I agree to a degree, why listen at 150 db's, but then the other question, for daily, 500 watts to a single 10" works for most. But most people opt for thousands of watts, big ported box, then complain about SQ....talk about two sides of the coin.

You have to install the system, in which it's 90% of the time going to be listened too. But I rarely even sit in someones car that has four 15's and 5000 watts, and they say "what's wrong with my SQ"....I just shake my head and walk off....

Can you have that and have good SQ, sure...to you, but to another, they may think it's too 'badd heavy', or highs are too high, staging is off....so what sounds good to you, may sound good, to you. But not to others.

and by now, everyone should agree, there is no sub that will pwn all in SPL, because other install, could take you out easily.

lol, "....I just shake my head and walk off" i never did that before lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/moon.gif.9d317aec3339ffe7fde0638df52c628a.gif

Having a system capable of doing 150db's in the lanes is much different than what that same system might do while you drive. I know when I had my L5 15" that did a 146.8 on the TL in my car I never listened to it very loud. Now the system was capable of almost 147db's which by most people's standard is rather loud but did I do it much, no.

I' ve heard solo-x's in a daily install (2 18's) and not only were they incredibly inefficient (5kw on each one), but even in a box tuned to 32hz they still had a funky response....... maybe it wasn't setup properly, but all seemed good to me. I don't know I was just really unimpressed with them. BTW this was at Columbus Car Audio on the westside of Columbus. really shitty people and salesman if you ask me.

I have only 140watts pushing a 12" CompVR ported and it sounds pretty good.......at least to me and my associates //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif

Ive sat in rides with thousands of watts..........that is way overkill for daily. Most of those systems were so unbalanced......no mids/highs......just ALL bass.

Oh well, to each his own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

What if one has a 3-way setup with 65 per tweet, 80 per midrange and, 300 per midbass;)
