SolidWorks

Its an amazing and very powerful 3D design program. I've been using it at work for the past year and there's no way I'm going back to CAD crap.

It would be a very simple task to make a box in Solid. Try it and upload some pics

i used it to design my ht box but i dont know anyway to upload the design anyone no how and ill post it

btw great program it can do so much stuff its crazy

there is a book on how to use the comands i would sell it to you but i need to keep it for future ref.

was just talking to my bro and he said the gem modules? is the key to using it ?

you can get free screenshot software and post it that way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Idk what that means. I just got a free 3 month trial because i participated in a drafting event. Hopefully i can figure this out. Then next year for my project maybe ill design a sub?! That would be kinda cool.

The tutorials included in Solidworks are pretty good. They'll show you the basics of moving from 2d to 3d drawings, and as far as box design goes, if you can use AutoCAD or something similiar, you can learn SolidWorks.

Yeah go to tutorial and start from there. Here's a sample of very basic box in Solid Modeling.

I use Autocad Inventor For my job and have messed around with solidworks several times. of all of the 3d cad programs the one that i like the best for designing boxes is actually the one that is free. Google sketch up. i think as long as you are not trying to do extremely odd angles and shapes. sketch up allows you to work very fast. as for learning solidworks, the program has some tutorials in it and you can get very good books on line.

Solidworks is a great rpograhm I use it to model design for my CNC. I also have some conversion software that lets me model flow dynamics of heads/combustion chambers. Have never tried aplying that to a sub enclosure. To be honest google sketch-up is a touch easier to use for basic designing though. But if your in school practice is a big plus. Good luck
