ok i have an infinity kappa perfect 12.1 sub, 350rms @4ohms 1400W max, im running it off an alpine MRV 100M amp, its like 300W maxx 100-150 at 4 ohms, my question is that, if i change the sub over to a ported box will it pound harder?? its in a 12in bassworks subbox right now, the ones at futureshop.. will a ported box increase bass and sound?

Solid.

You mean sealed.

Generally yes, ported boxes are more efficient than their sealed counterparts, and will yield greater output. How much more will be signal frequency dependant, and enclosure tuning dependant.

yea ok, cuz like my sub does sound good, and it hits hard, i just wanna know how to make it hit harder and if a new box will help.... so kinda in a way then?? will give me more bass but sound quality possibly not as good then?

yea well of course an amp that kicks out more then 100-150 Rms at 4 ohms will help the sub pound more too, but i just want some more bass without having to buy an amp lol

If you like the bass response but want it louder, build a larger sealed box, fill your current box with polyfill, or get a bigger amp. If you want to completely change the dynamics of your bass, build a ported or bandpass box.

Ported Boxes will push the Bass at you, easier to drive.Sealed will fire it at you it also requires more wattage to perform.

Do you want to be pushed or hit?
either shut up and quit giving advice till you know what the hell you're talking about, or leave.
