So yeah, i spoke to soon about my setup being perfect

you sure it didn't crossover the wrong preout?

:dunno: I have no clue what its doing, all i know is the crossover does correclty control the amount of bass going through the speakers, but they seem to distort even when i cross them over at like 200hz.

i think you have your filters backwards...

well with my HU (Eclipse 5444) all you do is select one frequency, and it automatically sets the HPF and Low Pass from that, so i can't think that im not doing it right.

Lol, make sure the sub RCAs are in the sub preouts on the headunit, then switch the RCAs from ur speakers to a diffrent one (assuming you have 3) and see if it fixes it.

ok, i can try that tommorow, but im pretty sure the subs are in the right preout. The sub sounds fine, and the speakers sound fine except for distorting at high volumes. i can't imagine them working correctly if they are in the wrong preouts.

you probably have it set for 2 way, and might have the speakers RCAs in the a preout that doesn't have a crossover, so its playing full range. Which would explain the distorion at high volumes.

So how do i fix it? I don't understand what you mean, there are 3 preouts. Front, rear and sub. Im not running rear speakers, so i have the speakers hooked up to the front preouts. Why would one of the preouts not have a crossover on it?

I have little faith in you. I would check it if i were you. just tryin switching the speaker preouts.

So take them out of the front preouts and put them in the rear preouts? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I have no idea what you mean by its set for 2-way or there is no crossover on that preout BTW. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Ill do it anyway, but i doubt that would do anything, it doesn't really make much sense.
