Im perplexed by that 18" basket too... My guess is that someone got happy with the unibit on that one. I cant see how it could be tooled to make holes that shape in the basket (from a 2 piece tooling).

That basket was just custom. Not sure if it was thought of as a cooling method or what. It was Reconed with atomic soft parts and actually had a atomic spider landing clamp tek screwed to the basket.

Dave Reid is who put it all together and I'm not sure he is a member here.
