Why can't you just glue it on, nail it, and go on with the next side. Nail should keep it on tight for the glue to dry.

I snagged up some of the 24" clamps from HF for about $2.50 each! They were on sale and they were also all out of the 36" which were only $3.20 or so. I also bought some of those angle clamps as well for like $2 each. I wish I would have bought more clamps because I was in the same position as you tonight. I bought the wood and had all the cuts done in about an hour but had to wait for the glue to dry. I'm not worried because I have some kerfing to do tomorrow to finish things but it should all work pretty well.
