So stressed out. 1 dead.

did I say that? no!Tell me that you think alcohol is any less of a danger to us than pot.
It is to the point that it alters differnt things moreso that alcohol. alcohol will **** your reaction time to somthing much more that pot along with other senses you need to drive. you can get in a wreck high but the senses pot affects is much less than that of alcohol.

Now fellas, I don't ever want to hear of you smoking crack and driving. Those two combinations should never be mixed. Of course, if you're like myself and most other crack heads, you've probably sold your car for a couple rocks anyway, so this wouldn't apply to you. Last time I smoked cracked and drove my bicycle I ran smack into a police cruiser. Crack + driving = no.

I think you would have to be a complete idiot to do either of them directly before or while driving.

x2 I agree completely... Just saying it is foked up how alcohol is legal and pot isnt. Im not just talking about the lives destroyed from crashes. I've seen alcohol fok up so many peoples lives its just foking pethetic. We waste all our tax money "fighting" stoners yet we let alchys do what ever they want //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. Thats my last post about it considering it doesnt have a whole lot do with the thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.

man, just read through some of this thread. This is sad news.

As for you getting in trouble, I dont think you would, but you should at least be aware of what you did and feel some responsibility. I once bought alcohol for a friend, and he just threw up a lot and I felt like it was all my fault.

Yeah, it was obviously not your fault and there's so many "what if I did/didn't" kind of situations to look at it as... but the fact you didn't buy alcohol with the intent to hurt someone, see someone drive drunk or any thing like that at least proves you are a decent guy and not a criminal. But from every drunken night, you gotta learn your lessons man. This may be a tough one. And you did not directly contribute to this accident, but some people would be in a lot of trouble over this.

sorry if I missed what some of this thread was about.. only read 1st and last page.

Hes 21, he'll be charged with manslaughter and probably go to big boy jail for a solid 10. Maybe more..I couldnt see why you would be at any legal fault. Like saying you sold bullets to a man and he shot and killed someone.

My condolences to the family though :-/

Sad story,

Utimately, you could be held responsible. The same rules apply to bars for those of you/us who are old enough to get in one. If a drunk driver kills someone after leaving a bar intoxicated, that bar could be liable and face losing a liquor license or other reprocussions.

You're friend should pay for his actions, and you may be held somewhat accountable, and maybe even the cops that didnt seize the alcohol. This is the beggining of a big ball of trouble.

yeah really im not too worried about if its my fault or not. but its still in the back of my head. like my parents know all about it theyre cool with it..not cool with it but they understand my part of it. and if i get a fine or ticket or somthin its no big deal but..still the fact is that someone is dead and i feel somewhat responsible for it. i can only imagine waht its like for my friend whose house it was at.

You are wrong. He can't legally purchase alcohol. The place that sold it to him would be held accountable. I'd be willing to bet on that.

the cops didnt seise the alcohol because there was none to seise. when they arrived that night because they got a tip of a party it was gone. we were abomut to go make another beer run. when they got there in the moring..the kegs were locked up in my truck and there was no other cans or anything.

It would certainly leave the door open for a civil suit against the seller of the alcohol if bbb were to get into trouble. But I'm not sure if it would entirely pass the buck to them and completely bypass bbb. Whether he is of legal age to purchase alcohol or not doesn't change the fact that he did help obtain the alcohol.

I personally seriously doubt it'll make it's way back to him though. They have the driver of the vehicle, and that is their primary concern. And the cops were there, no alcohol was removed the scene at the time. Anything that happens to bbb will probably be a misdameanor(sp?) at most I'd be willing to guess.

Thats why I said he "could be" held accountable. If he supplied it, he will go down, and so will the place that sold it to him.

So, you are saying that because he cant legally purchase alcohol that he cant legally be held accountable...

It all depends on the state, but I guarantee you that he will be in court as well.

No, I seriously doubt anything can happen to him. His parents will be held reliable before he will. They already have hte 21 y/o on record as being the one who bought it. I just don't think they can do anything to bbb.
