So... Im thinking about selling...

Revrider1 reminds me of myself with my Linear Power collection. I already started selling off the Linear Power amplifiers that I will NEVER use and I am thinking long and hard about selling off the ones I "might" use.

Of course the reason I am ditching Linear Power is because certain amplifiers can't produce rated power without clipping with only ONE channel driven at 50 Hz. Well, that and I discovered Lunar Amplifiers which produce some serious power for their size! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Crap, I just realized that I am taking the money I didn't need from selling the amplifiers to buy more amplifiers that I don't need. I need to sit down and have a long, well thought discussion with myself.

My father still has his Intellivision and a 286 (the green screen computers). Why? because even if he uses them once every 2 years, just for kicks, they have sentimental value.

Hold on to the Orions, so you can tell those whippersnappers, "I remember when 50% efficiency was all we had... and we LIKED it that way. Now get off my lawn, or I'll beat you with my Bazooka tube!" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

i have a dual voice coil 8 inch bazooka tube in my 86 mazda b2000 ....its not pounding the ground like a bigger sub would do, but it sounds pretty darn good...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

old school FTW!

Thats gonna be me...

What was that about being too old...or getting older? I would have to say KEEP THEM.I have some old Soundstream stuff that I will probably never run,but will not sell either. Car stereo is like owning a motorcycle.... Is it needed? NO...but once you own a bike or big bass car stereo you might sell it.BUT you will not get it out of your system.Within a year or two you will be back into it. Been there..Done that.

See this?

I've owned that Proton since it was new in 1989, and used it for all of maybe 3 months in that 20 years.

Same for my Zapco Z220II.

Would I sell either of them?

No way.

I couldnt replace them (try finding either one), nor would I want to spend more later to buy something no better than what I already own.

I'm jealous. I have a Proton 222 that I cherish.

This said, I sold almost all of my other amps over the winter.
