RD Audio.... http://www.rdaudio.net based out of Georgia. I own two of the subs shown above, the 18" Super Heavyweights. I cant complain, they've lasted way longer than my Digital Designs 9918's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Mach 5 Audio... http://www.mach5audio.com ... this is their new SPL 12" driver .. I really like this sub alot, and for its price of $250, its hard to beat in that price range.

Massive Audio DMX ... http://www.massiveaudio.com ... these quad coil SPL subs can take a beating, was the first single driver I ever used to get past 150 db's with. They are reconable without glue, which comes in handy for SPL

Massive Audio CW .. http://www.massiveaudio.com ... nice mid line subs from massive, they're also reconable without any glue at all, just swap cartridges. The green arrows point to where the screws that hold on the spider landing are.

I'm too old for comps. I'm too deaf for 8's. I gotta have something, however, because the ******* kids across the street think they've got loud stereos. I cannot be bested by a bunch of **** teenagers who don't even know what a Digital Designs woofer is...I would like, if possible, just loud enough to set their car alarms off every morning as I leave for work, as they have done mine for the past year. Also, shaking things off their living room wall and causing emotional damage to the cat would be good.

Anyway, I appreciate any and all responses.

There are always exceptions to every rule...and for some reason, it's usually DD that's responsible XD

I had a pair of RE8's in there for a long time. Musically, they sound great. But they're no 1508's. I'd prefer to do a single 12 or 15 setup...possibly even an 18 if i feel froggy enough.

So do you have any other mods to your 'rex? Audio and paint are going to be the last two additions I'm making. So far, the old girl has a brand new Tokico Illumina setup (if you're ever considering replacing shocks/struts, these are the only way to go). Upper and lower strut tower bars, "behind the seat" chassis brace, bigger torsion and anti-sway bars, 15x7 wheels with Z rated rubber. All new ball joints/tie rod ends/rack end bushings/wheel bearings/rear LCA's, front UCA's, better axels, LSD, ZC hybrid transmission, total engine rebuild + overbore about 2 months ago (a lot cheaper than you'd think!) plus port-n-polish. I'm not even going to guess how much horsepower I'm putting down because I'm sure it's not an impressive number anyway....but she will do 130mph without any hateful noise or other ill effects. 0-60 time went from about 7 seconds before the engine build to a solid 6 seconds (4.25g in 3rd gear w/ hybrid ******).

Yeah...that's where all the money I used to spend on audio went....well, what little bit by g/f didn't spend on shoes.

By "too old" i really meant "too many other responsibilities". I work 50+ hrs a week and I'm a member of a car club that completely takes up one day a week working on everybody's rides and a motorcycle club that does charity rides every weekend during the summer. I also have to find time to spend with my family and my g/f and her family....That's not to say that once this is all done I won't take it out to a show or two, but that's not going to be my primary focus.

The RE's are decent as far as 8's go...I have fooled with them but they are no DD's...My Rex is basically stock except for minor stuff...Exhaust ...Stage 1 Clutch...intake.....I run 16's on Pirellis...When I had 17's they rode a little rough....Here is a pic of it...only difference it has a Wings West urethane front bumper now....It is a great daily car...I drive it to all the car shows....

still got gnomeaudio?
I wish.

We got about $2k short of where we needed to be to buy a CNC router and the "Backshock" from a hurricane wiped out most of our MDF (about six pallets of 4x8 3/4" and 1" sheets) when the barn I was keeping it in flooded. I had about 20 customers that had to wait a month or longer for their boxes, plus a few people got sent the wrong boxes due to all the confusion that was going on because of the loss of our shop and supplies.

I finally ended up refunding everyone and paying for the shipping mix-ups and such out of our CNC fund. After that huge blow, I decided to move on for a bit and think about what I wanted to do with my life. I work as a retail manager now and I'm making a pretty good living at it...But it still doesn't even compare, in terms of the sense of accomplishment and a reason to stay motivated I had when I owned my own business.

If anything, I'd like to save up the cash with my business partner and just buy a CNC machine and secure a waterproof storeage area BEFORE we start the business, that way it's basically a plug-n-play....oh yeah....and if you ever think of starting your own business, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INSURANCE. One little act of God took my whole business, life savings and job away all at once.

Sharp looking car. CF hood?

I had a set of 17" enkei RS7's on mine at first (left over from my old car) and they were AWFUL on the rex. Even with a top of the line suspension and a 2" drop, they still felt nasty. The general concensus from CRX enthusiests is 15x7 wheels with 50 or 55 profile z-rated tires (or like a 40 or 35 profile on 16x7's) to get the best traction.

If you ever want to get your hands dirty and start adding performance parts, the guys at http://crx.honda-perf.org/forums are the ones that have helped me for the most part. Tell em LoneRanger sent ya //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

There are guys on there with everything from basic resto-builds all the way to K20 turbo'd drag cars....but for the most part, they just want to preserve the cars and keep people from doing half-*** builds that ruin another of our beloved rex's....you know, they DID stop making them in 91...4 years til mine's a classic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That forum is what seriously changed my mind from "I'm going to hack this little $2000 beater up and build an audio-comp car out of it" to "I'm going to rock it til the wheels fall off....then put the wheels back on and rock it some more"

So what trim level do you have there? HF/DX/SI?

SI's and HF's are always in huge demand. HF because it's light and easy to swap out the engine. SI because it's already got the D16 and a very solid ***** and axels...DX is sort of the bastard child of the two (not light and no top-end factory options, but they're generally a lot cheaper than the other two, which leaves you more budget to upgrade). You probably already know, but on the right rear corner window, there's either a red SI, a white HF or no marks at all (DX).
