I guess people where I live aren't used to stopping at red lights. Im headed to work at 5am the other morning. 4 lane road, 2 lanes each way, with a center median. Light turns yellow than red. I come to a normal stop, not sudden or anything, just brake and come to a stop in the right lane. A split second after I stop an Xterra that was coming up behind me careens around me on the left with loud screetching and tire smoke, fishtails, flys across the intersection against the red light, nearly spins, and manages to stop on the opposite side of the road facing an oncoming car which barely managed to stop too. He had to have been doing over 60 on this local surface road to have to stop like that. Then the idiot had to back up into the intersection (light's still red) to steer around the center median and get back on his side of the road. Id LOVE to have seen him try to explain that accident. Except he woulda either creamed me or hit a car in the opposing lane head on and caused someone ALOT of headaches.
Of course the cops are never around for that but around here they're ON TOP OF IT when it comes to people doing 75 with the rest of the traffic on local highways.
