So i'm disappointed with my HU...

it has a 7 band eq as well as time correction and the crossover allows you to run active( 2 or 3 way)if ur looking to step up SQ or run acitve components, i would get the 9887
I was looking at getting the 9886 and an EQ but might just get the 9887. Do you know what the 7 eq bands are?

First, read and find out what going active is, then draw your conclusion yourself.

haha jk..

With what you have now, not you cannot. You don't have 4 channels of amplification, and you don't have the proper processor or headunit...

9886 can be used with the imprint. Built in ipod on 9886, no usb on 9886, 9886 has 2 band eq, can be ran active using the pxa-h100

Actually, its the 9887 that has no usb, the 9886 has rear usb, so you can put an extender cable there.

I wish the 9887 did, that would make it perfect for me. I hate to add those **** $150 modules that take up underdash space and have spaghetti wiring from every end.

i have nothing against Alpine, i just want to see what else people suggest

MUST HAVE iPod CONTROL!!!

i have also read that with the 9887 you have to get the Imprint software in order to change Bass/Treble? is this true?
