so i just found out i blew my hdc315 copper :(

If I do not have subsonic filter when being in your situation then what should I do?
At least I know that Kicker ZX2500.1 dont have any subsonic filter.. correct me if i am wrong.. thanks
is your box ported? if so then be carefull when playing lower than tuning. most subs will be fine up to 1/2 octave below tuning before unloading.

example

if you box is tuned to 40hz, then you should be good to 30 hz or so.

an octave below a 40 hz tuning is 20hz so half is 30hz.

imo, the stress should be the same at that point of attachment, if its not then i would think the cone/coil wouldnt move correctly at high x-max. if its pulling tighter on one side vs the other seeing as how the spider had the majority of controll over the movement of the sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
I understood what u were saying I'm just not sure if that's the problem. makes sense to me

when my box was tuned to 40hz i set mine to 28hz, now my new box is 38hz i did 26hz. works great for me.

on the upside recones are fun. and btw its a ***** to pull the cone out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
The coils aren't fried. In fact the sub still plays fine LOL we were probably beating on it with the ripped spider during the whole video LOL

yep, that preaty much right on the money for the ss filter setting, right around 1/2 an octave below tuning.

of course its all diffrent, how the box is placed in the car/truck, if the sub has anything to load off of and so on.

If you are really worried you can buy a stand alone subsonic filter thats adjustable from Harrison Labs.

I used to have when I had 4 ZX 2500.1's cuz they dont have a SSF. But that little device worked pretty well.

Also about the sub... I would try to see if its manufacture defect:confused:
