So I caved and bought a pre-built computer

Yeah I started a thread about 2 weeks ago about building my own PC...but while at a local CC I was just looking at monitors and ended up seeing an HP for 899.99. It pretty much had everything I needed being that im not a huge gamer.

Specs:

Processor- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600(2.4GHz)

Graphics- NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS graphics card with 256MB dedicated video memory, Up to 1535MB Total Available Graphics Memory as allocated by Windows Vista

Chipset Intel- G33 Express Chipset

Memory- Capacity 3GB DDR2

Hard Drive- 640GB 7200RPM SATA

Those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head...if I do decide to get more into gaming, I can upgrade to the 8800GT and a better PSU.

I feel as if its not a bad PC for the price I paid...Also picked up a 20" Samsung monitor.

If all this is true, you got it for about the same price that you'd have paid to build it on your own.
But you have the added bonus of all the shitty applications HP adds and tries to get you to by!

You can get decent pre-builts sometimes, I am in the process of building one myself and optd to build it instead due to just wanted to build it as it has been so long.

My first stop for pre-built machines is usually fdisk followed by a fresh OS install, stay away from the restore CD's they give you they are filled with all that shit like AOL, NOrton and a bunch of other memory hungry useless shit you don't need.
