so frustrated, trying ONE more time with your help or else am going back to stock

heres my suggestion, check all fuse's, read all the manuals, including the deck's..
turn the gain on the amps to the 1/2 way point...

you mention sparking when the rca's touch, why did they touch??

have you tried new RCA wires? new speaker wire??

Did you buy this amp used?
checked fuse and read manuals.

did the gain thing.

the previous RCAs i had had metal ends which made them touch when packed together behind the dck. i noticed they caused some crackling in speakers not sparks when they touched. i switche to a different set of RCAs.

amp is new.

i rewired all the speakers and still no sound.the protection light does not come on any longer but still no sound.

al looks perfect except no sound. speakers are wired correctly, power, ground and remote are good.

i unplugged the speakers from the amp, pulled my sisters neon close to my car and extended the speaker wire to her speaker terminals in her to to test the speakers and the speakers worked. so i now i know the speakers are not the problem. its either the amp is not giving any output or am not hooking something right in the deck. but the only things that need to be hooked up to the deck for sound are the RCAs going to the amp.except if am missing something. just to make sure it wasn't the speakers, i took a speaker from my home theatre and connected it to a channel on the amp but there was no sound. i then took it to my sisters car and the speaker worked.

1. so its either the deck is not giving any sound to the amp through the RCAs .

OR

2. the deck is giving sound thru the RCAs but the amp is not giving any sound to the speakers.

so, how do i check which is not transmitting sound?

Take the amp in to a freinds car as i said, if that is a no, you can take a computer PSU to power it off that in your house and hook it up to a portable mp3 player and see if there is any sound. Or you could take a different amp into your car and check for sound.

i hooked up a kicker 850.4 to the system and it worked.although there was buzzing and engine noise. at least i know the deck is giving signals through the RCAs. maybe a ground issue or cheap RCAs. the fronts were also clipping out when i turned the gain up. does that mean they are blown?

i faded the sound to the rear and it sounded fine even with gainturned up.(although there was buzzing and engine noise).so i guess am going to need new from components and a new amp. am going with something different since i have had to replace the front infinity components twice now.

i still have to bench test the nine.5 . don't understand why it died. it was brand new.

any ideas?
