Is it ever loud enough?
since I am back.... I am fixing my truck and getting it ready to streetbeat again this summer...

I have been gone for a little over three months and now there are DC Sounds in alot of topics or sigs now. it seems to be growing to be a new forum boner.

my question is this... who has tried a lvl 4 and how did it do?

check out smd charlie, they have a pretty decent DC boner going on.

They seem to be getting some good reviews.

they have their own subforum as well

Im building a SPL lane vehicle, wanna sponsor me lol jp

BTW for people who didnt see it I will post this for Rusty.

OK so lets start by saying i did this for fun in our Street A Car, The LV4 is a SQL woofer (long coil, lots of moving mass, fairly large gap)where the 9500 is really built for Street class SPL(superlight moving mass, composite cone, supertight gap, extream ampunts of motor) heres the details of the test, everything was clamped and tested for exact results

1 Hifonics amp Clamped at 3850 watts

Freq Burped 57Hz

DD 950010 D2 w/ composite cone SPL 153.7

DC LV410 D2 (stock) SPL 153.3

I was really surprised only .4 behind for a woofer that costs 1/3 of the price of a DD 9500

Every application is diffrent but these are the results from our St A car, I just put another LV410D2 together with just a LV5 D2 coil change, i left the suspention alone, I will have the test results from that later today. Should be interesting to see if it gains.

Youd have to ask Rusty as he ran the tests, but to my knowledge no tests have been done yet with the lvl5 coil on a lvl4 motor. At least none have been posted anywhere yet that I have seen or heard about.
