Well i am a commercial/industrial electrician and we are working on a 10 story hospital at the moment. Well we were cleaning up from a days work and we had about...oh 20 feet of 1000 MCM....if only i could get it to flex more!

If anyone doesn't know....1000 MCM is about an inch and a quarter of solid stranded copper...with jacket it is a good inch and a half.

Isnt copper bad for your health?
its necessary, but apparently too much can be:

Copper in our diet is necessary for good health. You eat and drink about 1,000 micrograms (1,000 ug) of copper per day. Drinking water normally contributes approximately 150 ug/day. Immediate effects from drinking water which contains elevated levels of copper include
vomiting

diarrhea

stomach cramps

nausea

The seriousness of these effects can be expected to increase with increased copper levels or length of exposure.
