sneaky sneaky!

Must be a Taiwan knock-off of a Korean reverse engineered product. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

it will be a long time before americans start working as efficiently, cheaply, and consistently as people do overseas...
You're absolutely right. Im thinking till hell freezes over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Americans are far too spoiled with their starbucks laate's and DTV to actually get off their *** to be a competitive manufacturing entity.

Seems more like the manufacturer of the caps would have done this. I mean if they can sell an amp manufacturer 10,000 14cent caps for the price of $16 caps that is a ton of money. I blame the Chinese, probably used lead paint on them too.

I have to wonder how this was discovered in the first place. I mean, how many of you are going to cut open a cap, even if you discover it has failed? Methinks that the perpetrator has a leak somewhere....possibly a buildhouse/company employee with a conscience (or didn't get a raise).
Lets say the amp stopped working, and notice a cap leaking... I would go ahead and replace em all for good measure... wait... this thing is suspiciously light. A cap like that should have a little weight to it, and this one pictured wouldn't foot the bill.

i dont think it was deceit on the cap manufacturers part, as the products should be tested for QC purposes. and do you think that a cap that small will actually work with the rest of the design of the amp where there should be a large cap.

sounds like the AMP manufacturer is the one at fault here to me.

If you google counterfeit capacitors, you can find some more discussion about this.

I am not sure if it is for real or not, and not even sure if it would have came from an amplifier. But if they are distributed, I don't see why it couldn't be in anything from a toaster oven to a car amp; if it is infact real.

Thats a discussion from december of last year.
