you don't seems to know a lot about car audio. Read some sticky and use the search fonction. This forum is full of usefull infos.

find out at what ohm you're using the amp atm and how to set a gain properly first...

Turn down the gain. Turn off the boost. Set the x-over correctly.

the shop did the instal? never go back there unless you want to shoot the installer

well, there is your problem. A gain is not a volume knob and even if it were, you shouldnt EVER have it ALL THE WAY UP.... You are clipping, have clipped anything running off of that amplifier to hell and back.
