i just got my 2 polk audio momo120 12" , and my 2 bd1000.1 amp (1000watts each)

installed in my car. When i turn it on for a while the 2 sub started to produce a funny smell. the guy at the shop said it's normal because the sub gets warm during an operation. I don't turn the volume all the way up.

do you think that is a bad sign? Is my sub going to break soon?

ha that is normall i am not sure what kind of head unit you have but you should have one that will watch your heat level for you just to be safe, They do get hot and with that amount of wattage running if it is in a trunk if you have the option of a back seat fold down ride with it down or consider runnig a fan, i Have see some catch on fire man, but you should be ok

It's not the amps it's the sub's that smell like that. It's the stuff that they use during assembly that you smell. It will go away after a little while. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
