Smaller wire equals damagE???

I just want to know, if i have an amp that accepts 2 gauge power wire, and i run 8 gauge for about two weeks until i can afford the whole 0 gauge to 2 gauge setup will it stress out/damage my amp???

you can, because it will try to draw more power then the wire can handle. wait to get the 0 guage kit. it will be much more rewarding and you wont damage anything. just wait.

yep, you could melt the wire or fry your amp..

melting from trying to pull too much current through too small of a wire

fry amp becuase of the excessive voltage drop that would be caused from the indadaquate current carrying capacity of the wire.

If your gonna run it with the 8 guage set your gains to about 200 watts, lol.

Otherwise wait.

I'm running 8 gauage wire iwth my setup and i have yet to blow the 40 amp fuse on it.
