smaller cab higher tuning?

a guy said that in my bros ford ranger extended cab if I want a box tuned to 30hz

I have to tune it to like 40 to 45hz be cause the size of the cab is small it lowers the tuning of the box he said that if I made a box tuned to 30hz in the truck it would be tuned to like 18hz is this true //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif ......

for what it's worth, in my truck when the windows are down or the doors are open, it plays lower, louder... food for thought i guess...

^ you gotta be doing something really wrong to bottom a fully loaded BTL off a 20.1... i've yet to hear my MT hit the back plate off 3000w+ and i abuse the hell out of it...

i was listening to bass mekanik bass i love you, it gets lllooowwww at one part, thats the only time ive done it

well it was bottoming out or tinsel slap, not really sure now that i think about it

I'm guessing it has to do with the limited air volume in the cabin with it sealed up, and probably something with the sound waves not developing fully.

My truck still sounds pretty loud sealed up, but it meters like shit.

Tuning...no idea.

It PEAKS at 43 hz outlaw, and 41 hz at the headrest.

Thats the SPL setup anyways. Haven't had a "daily" tuned setup in there in quite some time.
