Small trunk... Difference between 10's and 12's

So you are saying that a 10" woofer in a proper box at say 500w would sound exactly the same as its counter part 12" in a proper box at 500w???

the 12 should be a hair louder and dig a hair deeper. bigger isn't always better though.

Unless the bigger sub has different motor and efficiency, tens and twelves are pretty close, a few db's, this is only comparing subs of same manufacturer.

The 12s will be louder the vast majority of the time. Playing lower is more a result of the louder thing than anything else.

Just remember that the 12's will require a larger enclosure then the 10's Tying to get 12 loud in the wrong space is a waste of time... Ive heard 10's outbang 12's in a smaller enclosure also...

Just my 2 cents... It really all depends on the install, vehicle, space, power,SQ/SPL ect....

mostly butt ***...but other than that the 12's in the right enclose would be louder but given ur space the 10's will be just fine. not much of a noticeable difference.
