Slot Port Question

I'm getting ready to build a slot ported box for 2 MA Audio 150QS subs. I already have the recommended box and port sizes from the manufacturer, but was curious as to whether or not I had to put a divider in the box and slot port both sides, or if it would be ok to use no divider, and a single port. If so, should I just double the dimensions of the port? For a single sub it calls for 3.75 cubic ft and a port size of 3" x 8.25" x 8", so it'd make it a lot easier for me to build an encolsure of 7.5 cubic ft and build the port 6" x 16.5" x 16" correct? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
