Slot Port Opening

does it matter how wide the slot port is. I am looking at a box 35x15x16. With a slot port of 2.5 inches wide its about 33.75 tuned to 35 hz. A opening 3" wide is tuned to 37.6 with 40.5 sq inches of port. Whats the general rule on the width of a port without getting port noise. Also if i wanted to use a 4" pvc is says it will be 4.9 inches long for 35 hz. I would think that would not be enough for a single driver and be very high tuned. Thanks

make sure to include port and subwoofer placement in your box

so if 35x15x16 is what your subs need you will need to make it bigger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lmao did you mean displacement??

lol gotcha b-4 edit lol

yea, displacement. With my box 35x15x16 and a slot port opening 3" 13.5" long It gives me the proper hz i am looing for. Do I have to make a 90 degree turn, or can the port just be straight going toward the back of the box. If I turn the port 90 degree the hz go way down. I was trying to get 35-37ish
