Slot port,need some learnin

Does any one know a website that has some kinda instructions for buildin a slot port box ,a friend wants to build him a box with a slot port ( I tried to talk him into a round port since I know how to do that) Thanks for any help ya'll can offer me or even give me a lil example.

it's just an open space that is built into the box. hence the name slot.
